SEMICON Japan, the largest semiconductor industry’s annual event in Japan, will be held in a virtual format for the first time from December 11 to 18. The event, SEMICON Japan Virtual, will consists of online exhibits, programs and SMART workforce events.
SEMI has initially announced the postponement of this year’s event to 2021 while offering a virtual conference to deliver programs and network opportunities in early December. However, the lack of business interactions at SEMICON Japan exhibition for large and small industry players could lead an adverse impact to the industry growth, and SEMI reviewed and updated the plan to add exhibition to the virtual conference.
The new SEMICON Japan Virtual is supported by recent experiences at Virtual SEMICON West, the first virtual SEMICON, that successfully offered a full exhibition experience along with a prominent list of speakers. By leveraging these online technologies, SEMICON Japan this year will be easily accessible from anywhere in the world without the associated costs and travel time.
Finally, through SEMICON Japan Virtual, we would like to build a bridge to SEMICON Japan 2021, a foundation for future electronics supply chain week, and make it valuable to the industry and participants.
The SEMICON Japan Virtual will consists of three components
Virtual Exhibition – December 14 to 17, the event will feature exhibitor presentations that will be available on demand until January 15.
Online Conferences – December 11 to 18, the conferences will be offered live with replays available on demand until January 15. Some programs will be only available on demand.
Mirai College, students’ programs – This December 13 program will educate and connect college students to the industry and companies.
