Terry Higashi, Former Chairman, President & CEO of Tokyo Electron has contributed to the development of the semiconductor industry and Tokyo Electron for 42 years since he joined Tokyo Electron in 1977 and retired from the company in 2019. He serves as outside director in 3 companies, Nomura Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., 7-Eleven, Inc., Ube Industries, Ltd.(Chemical & Materials).  He also serves for Tsukuba Innovation Arena, a government industry and academic institution focusing on advanced science and technology development. In 2020, he received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star award in the 2020 Spring Conferment of Decorations, in recognition of his seminal contributions to the development of the semiconductor industry and TEL.
